Do I need a TEFL/TESOL certificate to join?
Yes, to ensure that you’re well-prepared and confident in the classroom, we require at least an online TEFL/TESOL certificate. If you don’t have one yet we can guide you to the best option and country based on your goals.
How long does it take to start teaching abroad after signing up?
Most teachers sign up with the deposit 6-12 months in advance while the preparation of visas, paperwork etc takes around 3–4 months to finalize.
Can I choose the country or age group I want to teach?
Of course, you can choose any country in our network and if you're not sure I'll help you decide with personalised advice. I’ll ask for your preferences for age group and location and my team and I do our best to match them. But flexibility is key and your placement will depend on where you're most needed and what schools are looking for at the time.
Is the teaching job full-time?
Yes, all placements are full-time and typically Monday to Friday. Classroom hours vary by country but average around 20–30 teaching hours per week
What kind of support will I get?
You won’t do this alone. From visa advice to preparing for your demo lesson, I’ll guide you every step of the way. Plus, you’ll be part of a community of teachers going through it with you. You also get 24/7 in country support, full pre-departure support with packing and paperwork and pre-TEFL preparationary courses to get you started. Plus, weekly live training calls to meet all the other teachers!
Is this safe for solo travellers?
Yes. All countries we work in are considered safe for foreign teachers, including solo female travellers. My in-country team provides cultural briefings and help with arrival logistics to give you peace of mind.
What are the living expenses like?
Depending on the country, you can expect to spend $10–$20 USD per day on essentials like food and transport. Accommodation is either included or affordable (we’ll help with that too!) Most countries you can save $200-300 USD per month and some much more than this!
What happens if I don’t like my job or school?
If there's a serious issue beyond your control, my team and I will work with you to find a better placement. We want you to have a great time abroad and we've got your back.
Can I fail the TEFL course?
It’s possible yes but very rare. I'm here to support you throughout the course and will offer extra help if you need it. Most people pass with no issues. Plus, you'll get access to the TEFL preparationary course, grammar prep course, weekly Q&A and live weekly trainings- as well as the actual course.
Can I travel after the contract ends?
Absolutely. As long as your visa is valid, you can explore the region or even transition to teach in another country and we can help with that too- no extra fees!
